This board is going to have to lower their expectations for now and realize they're going to have growing pains with Max. in the 2 games we saw we saw some amazing things for the freshman. He also made a ton of freshman mistakes. He's going to develop into something special eventually but it seems unfair to think he'll be where Brennan is right now. There are definitely things Brennan is way ahead in whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

Losing Brennan is going to be a bigger loss than this board wants to admit. The good news is the first half of our schedule sucks so it gives him time to heal. Going to find out real quick if Jones was the right hire for DC because those guys need to give Max help. I hope this motivates the entire team to step up before the season starts.

Why would we do that?

I mean, maybe, but nothing Brennan has done on the field should lead anyone to say he was head and shoulders above anyone. He was also making freshman mistakes last year except he was in his 4th year.

Give me a break. If Myles was the starter, I projected LSU to lose two or three games to teams that can really get after the passer. While with Max at the helm, LSU has a far greater chance to win those games and to go undefeated.

As losing Myles, who was going to be the backup to Max, is bad especially for Myles, but it isn't devastating to LSU's 2021 season unless Max gets hurt and put out for several games.

Indeed, if Myles was going to be starter, since Max had made it clear that he wasn't transferring regardless if he lost the QB derby, there wasn't anything standing in Ed O's way to name Myles the starter, but he didn't. Obviously, because Max was going to be the starter.

Indeed, that's why Ed O brought Deculus to Birmingham with him, as opposed to Brennan.

It's also the reason why the insiders for two months now have been claiming that Max Johnson has already separated himself from Myles Brennan in the locker room and on the field. As those insiders are getting that info via their conversations with the players in the locker room.

Give me a break, Myles isn't coming back. As all he was, was a backup to Max Johnson. He's going to rehab his arm all season to be eligible for a medical redshirt and so he can still have two years of eligibility remaining, then he is going to hit the transfer portal early next year and probably transfer to Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.

Losing Brennan probably just sent any hope of SEC championship up in smoke.

I am sure that Max is good, but doubt he will lead LSU to a championship this year.

Such appalling luck.
