Traveling from Aruba back to Louisiana on Saturday. We currently have a 3 hr layover in DFW. There is an option to fly into Charlotte, NC, with 1 hr 45 minute layover. We have never been to the Charlotte airport. Just wondering if 1 hr 45 min is enough time for international travel with customs??

Aruba is one of 6 countries that has a US customs and immigration in the Aruba Airport. When you get to the airport in the US, you just go to your next flight.

Arrive to the Aruba Airport early. It takes 3 hours to do all the steps there.

Correct! Also, you will go thru security twice at the Aruba airport. Don't wear a belt, or just don't put it back on after the first security check. You'll be taking it off again, in a few minutes.
