Second, it's hard for me to blame ANY LSU QB from 2009 - 2016 (perhaps a few years longer) for poor play as the general philosophy on offense was to avoid the middle of the field in the passing game at all costs and handcuff every QB with the most risk averse offense possible.

This is really a good perspective. If Jordan Jefferson was in the Urban Meyer system, while he would not look as good as Tim Tebow, he would certainly fair much better.
