Anti-drug people tend to be highly opinionated and highly uninformed about these topics. I too have noticed this.

I’m anti drug and I’ve pretty much tried/used about every drug you can name outside of fentanyl. I’ve also watched many of the people I regarded as friends die from various health issues related to drug use, namely cirrhosis of the liver from hepatitis.

This is irrelevant. Abusing any drug, even one as mild as acetaminophen, can be deadly. Allowing people to research these drugs is not encouraging recreational drug use. The research leads the way to patients taking them for legitimate therapy under the guidance of a physician.

Doctors will not be giving patients high dosages so they can trip balls at home. High dosages are administered through inpatient therapy sessions and guided by the physician. Any at home use is usually microdosing which does not cause a psychedelic experience.

Psychedelics are also not habit-forming and have few, if any, negative side effects. It is the most promising treatment for mental therapy and much safer than the majority of pharmaceuticals currently being used. People need to get over the stigma of psychedelics that has been ingrained in Western society.
