It was more to go ahead and address the throngs that will come in here and insist that a breakup of the United States should happen on a similar basis..whenever that’s not possible because the historical and ethnic factors that made a peaceful breakup possible for the Czechs and Slovaks do not exist here. They could break cleanly on historical ethnic lines and be done with it. We have no such lines. Our lines are partisan, superficial, and we do not have any clean lines to draw without massive forced human migration.

I see. Yes, if and when it were to happen here, it’s going to involve some compromise, and it would require some people moving. No doubt about it.
