Fishing around Alexandria...Indian Creek???

Got a family reunion this weekend around Alexandria, LA. Was thinking about bringing the camper and staying at Indian Creek. My brother was considering bringing his boat if I could find a place for us to fish. Any fishing reports on Indian Creek??? I'm not familiar with it. Is there any place you would recommend other than Indian Creek?
Thanks for any help.

Fishing in CENLA this time of year basically sucks. At Indian creek, my best advice would be cruise around and look for schooling bass. The only reason I can fish there now is the fact that I have learned so many brush tops I can jump from one to another and catch enough white perch for it to be fun.
Top spots for schoolies varies, but most seem to stay north near the timber boat lanes or just out in the middle by the dam. They sometimes come up near the burned out bridge which is straight south of the main landing.
You might be able to cruise the banks looking for bream beds given the moon stage.

I think Kinkaid is more productive in that area.

Fished it a few weeks ago. Two bites. 1 lb and other was 4lbs. Beautiful lake, some big bass in there, just tough to fish

This morning sucked. Watched lots of fish not bite my jigs. Only caught 4. No schooling activity .

Pretty much the same. Found some decent fish, couldn’t get them to bite anything. I’ll just wait until it gets cooler in a few months and fish midweek.

They've started. I know some guys that have finished it for years but they haven't done well this year. I'm not sure when they start but I think it's May or early June.

quote:No, I am an almost 100% crappie convert. I do miss bass tournaments, and if one of my fishing buddies asked me to fish some, I would probably not decline. I really miss the old night circuit we had that went from Kincaid to IC to Cotile. Bassin-Buddies I think it was called.
