Yes, but you are setting up a strawman. The vast majority of 70s+ are not going to die without a vaccine, you are discounting a risk you have no idea about.
Yeah, but it’s like what? 5%? If I got Covid if I was unvaccinated, it’s like one in 10,000.

It killed 600,000 people and Cuomo personally murdered 15,000 people to spite Trump. Now everyone who wants to get vaccinated has gotten it. DeSantis has pointed this out. He’s done everything he can. Those are the facts.
Waving your hands and yelling “Cuomo” does not change the reality that DeSantis is pushing an experimental vaccine in which the overwhelming vast majority of people who contact the virus will make a complete recovery from the virus with little to no lasting complications.
Desantis claims in the video linked above ( @ 1:21-25) that if you get the vaccine, your chance of surviving the virus is “close to 100%.” DeSantis fails to mention that the overall survival rate of COVID-1984 itself is “close” to 100%.

Your thread title is inaccurate and sucks

Exactly, again I'm a Trump fan. But he thought supporting lockdowns would help him win the election. It probably would of....but the steal. It was a political move to appease the middle. But he was def for lockdowns.

Nobody knows what the risks and benefits are, the European rough data is not encouraging. Need hard data.
You're at best a Guinea pig right now.
At this point, they're acting like the vaccine is not effective.

No, it’s a fricking fact you’re more likely to die from Covid if you’re old or have a preexisting condition than from Covid. Personally in my non-professional opinion, I wouldn’t advise high schoolers to get the Covid vaccine given that more of them died from pneumonia last year than from Covid. But an old person should get the vaccine. Sorry, just my opinion.

Because these assholes politicized it. Which was probably always the plan. Now it’s like a monkey with a football.

Not at best: I am a Guinea Pig. I make no apologies about it. I looked at the stats and what my life demanded and I’m taking that risk. But yourself are a Guinea Pig as well with the virus. We’re all one to one extent or another.

What if they already got it before?

Yes we all are guinea pigs to a degree on this floating rock. However, at least without taking the jab you reasonable know your chances.
Here is the thing, even if I were wrong...the chances are it will only shave say days, weeks or months off. Most of these people are already half in the grave.

If you’re in your 20s through 40s, it’s debatable that I took the bigger risk. Yes, that’s on the board. But people in their 70s and 80s, no. Pretty established that the vaccine is safer than getting the virus.

Why apologize? I agree with everything you say above.
What I don’t want and what I don’t need — especially after the past year and half — is any politician of any political stripe advising me on any health matter whatsoever.

I thought the Vaccine only works if everybody in the country gets it. If only old people get it, that have a higher risk with the virus, they will still get killed by an unvaccinated person (that is literally their science behind the vaccine).
Secondly, even if Covid doesn’t make you sick, their less than one year of data, points to long lasting lung and heart issues and possibly other things they don’t even know about yet.
That’s what I hear from the people that believe the vaccine should be forced.
Finally, many of these same people would not take this same vaccine when Trump was in office.

You don't know that. we need data.
The very vast majority even in those age categories are still low risks without other factors.
And that is ignoring the rough data and everyone in government acting like it doesn't work.
Unfortunately, trust went out the window long ago.

Vaccined and non vaccinated can can be infected or reinfected, and transmit it.
People in the government are acting like it's not effective.

Saying we are “more likely to die from Covid if you’re old” definitely needs some qualifiers. Senior citizens in the 60-70 age range have a much lower chance of complications from this virus than those in the age range of 70-80. Of course, as we all age, comorbidities increasingly play a factor with any serious illness.

Someone remind me of the survival rate of the vast majority/much less vulnerable, please.
Thank you
Thank you

Yep, with you here. I just want the option, and once it’s presented, let me do me. If someone dies from not getting the vaccine, it’s sad, but no longer my problem. Same if I also die from getting the vaccine. It’s sad, but not your problem. It’s mine. I weighed my risks and decided the shot was worth it. Same with you. Neither of us deserve to die, but we at least had the opportunity to weigh the risks.
