Something else to consider is how level your floor will be OP. You should definitely have a pro level it after your contractor is done, or have a serious talk with your contractor. Im not flooring pro, but one thing I hate about the longer flooring is when there is "give" in them due to the subfloor not being level and being air gaps underneath. Long term any flex is not good as it will pull apart and damage itself. It may never be significant, but it will happen.
Again most floors require a certain amount of level, but tile for instance you can lay some extra mortar down to help level. Glue down may be better if its more uneven, it may not be. I'm not sure.
Something I'd absolutely consider though because as I said the wrong flooring on a bad subfloor will piss you off daily.
