No.

First, I don't really care about WBB. I think and hope they will do well, but it doesn't really add to my excitement one way or the other.

With football I am cautiously optimistic. But less so than in 2019. Going in to 2019 I thought there were several things favoring a great season by LSU. Most notably a favorable schedule and LOTS of returning production. The same is true for this year. But whereas the 2019 team was coming off a 9-3 (arguably should have been 10-2 season) with an experienced starting QB and proven (at LSU) DC, the 2020 team is coming off the worst season here in a decade with uncertainty and inexperience (relative to the fact Burrow started 13 games in 2018 where Brennan and Johnson have combine to start half as many) and two completely unproven coordinators. Point being, I KNEW the 2019 team would be good (though not THAT good). I THINK the 2021 team will be good. But I'm not as certain.

In basketball I though LAST season was set up for another run like in 18-19. LSU had multiple returning starters from a good year prior (Smart, Days, Watford) and was adding a top 5 recruiting class. I also thought the conference, as a whole, was going to take a step back while LSU was going to take a step forward and the defensive woes from 19-20 would be fixed. What happened was last year's team was good, but not great. The defense still sucked and the conference had some teams (namely Alabama and Arkansas) exceed expectations.

This year's LSU team has a lot of great names, on paper. But of those guys only Days has a record of production in an LSU uniform. I THINK the new players can perform well. But until we see it mesh in an LSU uniform we just don't know. Plus, the league is likely going to be much better as a whole and until Wade actually fixes the GLARING defensive issues I'm going to assume he isn't going to.

Baseball is the one of the three that really feels like an injection of "new life". With the others I'm taking a wait and see approach.
