Pretty clear the charts show vaccination is the difference

Or that the delta variant is even less lerhal than the not very lethal COV19 standard, or they may have better care than Timbuktu lmao

Delta variant isn’t as dangerous to the non-vaccinated as the original variant?

That wouldn’t explain the charts for the other countries

The delta variant pummeled counties like India that aren’t vaccinated. People were dying in the thousands. It’s more lethal so the vaccine working against it is great news.

of course not, the sickly and the elderly have already been vaccinated.

I rememeber at the beginning of all of this, listening to multiple epidemiologist on podcasts say that the usual trend is for viruses to mutate to be more contagious but less severe, or vice versa...that it's an inverse relationship typically. One of these guys later advised biden during transition.
So when all these expected mutations started happening, I was so curious to see if this was true, but not one story ever addresses severity, just that it's more contagious. Kinda weird, it's so hard to get straight info in this day and age.

Except that the graph is comparing countries with Delta variant surges

Herd Immunity. However we get there (caveat-without coercion) is fine by me. But it was the correct answer on day one and it's the correct answer now.

Why do folks down vote statistics?

Wouldn't age also play a major factor here? If the roughly half of the UK that aren't vaccinated are young then you're not going to see a big spike in deaths.
In nations with low single digit vaccination rates, you still have not only the majority of the country not vaccinated but the vulnerable populations not vaccinated as well.

No doubt that everyone is going to get antibodies one way or another

The mutated delta variant isn’t targeting the elderly alone. Plenty of young people who weren’t vaccinated in other countries, got it. I really don’t care about anyone’s politics here and actually credit trump with the vaccine. All in all, the vaccine is a good thing.

Maybe
But more likely most old and unhealthy people are now vaccinated

Indeed. As I said on day one, it's coming and no amount of cotton buffer and/or hiding under the bed is going to stop it. So live courageously, take whatever precautions you deem necessary, understand others will disagree and that is their right, and let's keep this show on the road. Full steam ahead, America.

Interesting… Curious though, what’s the test to determine what type of COVID you get? Can they really test if it’s from regular VID or superserious VID?

I didn't say it was. I'm saying if the elderly/vulnerable aren't vaccinated in these other countries you're going to see a spike in deaths. In countries with low overall vaccination rates, obviously the elderly aren't vaccinated.
If the elderly and vulnerable HAVE been vaccinated and the roughly 50% of the population that is unvaccinated trend younger then the spiking cases likely won't be followed by a major increase in mortality.
