Every year. I am always amazed at the differing rates.

I wouldn’t insure anything other than a beater with progressive. Had them 10 years ago. Maybe they’ve improved but I couldn’t stand them then.

We had a windstorm event in March. We are STILL fighting them and roof still leaking. We are in appraisal process now but Ive already contacted an attorney. At first I just wanted my roof fixed but now I want them to pay a penalty somehow for how horribly incompetent they have been. Run from Allstate. When you need them they will screw you but they also have idiots working for them in claims dept

Allstate, progressive, Nat gen, safeco (liberty mutual) are the main ones that are competitive, but I’ve got a slew of others as well.
If y'all haven't had anyone look into Safeco after the hurricanes and ice storm for home/auto, you probably want to. They were the top rated company after last years fiascos and have been extremely competitive.

My homeowners went up this year.. Someone correct me if I am wrong.. Homeowners doesn't only go up on your house but also your contents. Homeowners won't pay replacement value for your contents but will "pro-rate" the value. So I called and had the contents value lowered from the new rate to about 12 thousand less. That saved $158.00...
