Baws, I have seen on Reddit that the same guy that broke the Wuhan outbreak and the rescheduled match against Everton is saying Grealish will be signed within the week.

If Bernardo is out I wouldn't mind it. I love Bernardo but he does his best in KDB's role. Grealish brings a little piss and vinegar with him that this squad needs. Still need a true striker but it isn't a bad signing.

This. Bernardo is a top guy in the world at this role. Unfortunately, he is behind the best one in the world. He genuinely may be top 3, he was brilliant for most of the centurion season while KDB was out.

I don’t blame him at all if he wants to move on. He has never complained, has given it all for the club in massive games (Liverpool in Centurion season at home, incredible performance).

If we have to move him on, for likely somewhat of a discount, but we have that ability since he was brought in for £40 mil. If we can get £50 mil even I’d be fine with it if it brings in Grealish and a top forward.

Lol this is good timing.

The Athletic (paywall) — Give Grealish time to adapt to life under Guardiola – just like City’s other brilliant wingers had

Notable quotes —

quote:

“Because, no matter how much Grealish cost them, he was going to need time to adapt.”

quote:

“There is not a single winger City have signed in their five years under Guardiola who has produced anything like his best form during his first season with the club.”

quote:

“Sane, Bernardo, Mahrez and Sterling all faced questions about their ability and suitability in those first seasons under Guardiola but looked markedly better in their second.”

quote:

“As Guardiola suggests, Grealish has basically got the fundamentals covered already in terms of his use of the ball in different situations, and also in terms of positioning and work rate. If you don’t know how important those are to Guardiola as a manager, where have you been for the last 13 years?”

quote:

“All this might read as if Grealish has had a shocking start to life in Manchester.

quote:

‘The reality is that he’s done pretty well. As Guardiola notes, he’s doing an awful lot right, he understands the fundamentals, he just needs to add a bit extra.”
