Bon Scott, Keith Moon, and John Bonham. AC/DC, The Who and Led Zepplin were my three favorite bands and losing all three in 2 years gave me this strange sense that music was very ethereal. I was lucky enough to have had a cool uncle who so I had seen all three live. It started my desire to collect moments by seeing live music, if I listed all the artists I have seen that are dead now I would sound like a gang member recounting the bodies.

I also decided that if I died of "misadventure" it was going to be a better story than going to sleep in a Renault.

That's funny and sad too.

As a person who was very much into the mid-80s college band vibe (REM, U2, The Smiths, etc) and turned into full late 80s early 90s Grunge, I could probably count easier listing who is still alive from that 90s scene.

The death toll is remarkable. Cobain, Dolores, Layne, Weiland, etc. It's not related, but many people probably don't know of Ian Curtis and Joy Division, but it's what I think about with that group of artists and time.
