Does anyone know why LSU keeps the video boards on every night? I drive over the bridge at night a couple of times a month and can’t remember a time since they added the two south endzone screens that they weren’t on.

Seems like a waste of electricity and maintenance on those thing since they always have green lines on them anyway.

It’s been brought up before on here. They go bad or something if they were kept off. It’s better to just keep them always on.

I don’t have an answer, but they make their own power, so that is not an issue.

Amanda Adams, LSU Athletics director of internal projects and facility operations, cited moisture as the main threat to the lighting system, especially if the scoreboard is turned off for an extended period.

quote:

“Moisture will not build up on a heated surface; therefore, we have minimal issues with the boards if we just leave (the lights) on,” Adams said. “If we turn them off and allow moisture to build up, one simple problem could turn into half of the board being down."

Get a life. Nothing better than driving over the bridge and seeing Death Valley glowing

The same answer was given in a post almost directly above yours a good 20 minutes before you posted. Jeez, you're a genius.

Glad that it bothered you so that you posted that. This was told to me on the stadium tour in 2018, so my answer came straight from the athletic department! ??

Maybe they should let it rest some so the pixels don't go out during every game.
