I did Occelated Turkey a decade or so ago. I enjoyed it.

It’s certainly not the same as having a big vocal Eastern in front of you.

That said, it’s a fun experience. A beautiful bird in a lovely part of the planet. They can be called; but, it requires a small speaker and a recording of the song of the male. We had good success coaxing in other males looking for a fight.

The most common route of attack is shooting them off the roost, sitting a blind in high traffic areas or a spot and stalk which is quite fun too.

I would not recommend the outfitter I used. He was older and may not even be around anymore. Jorge Sansoeurs at Snook Inn Lodge. Good hunt; guy just isn’t transparent about pricing and hidden fees. I doubt that he has many return customers.

I did Gould’s with RSO. I’d trust Brad to get you into the Occelated too.
