I completely agree, times have changed in regards to this drug BUT the fact is it’s currently illegal and doing something illegal makes it a crime. To turn the other way just isn’t the right thing at this time. Make it legal and then they will HAVE to back off.

It’s not as if they aren’t extremely forgiving as it is? Hell they would probably turn the other way if they would just attempt to pass a test in some way or just stop smoking the weed. It isn’t that difficult to stop doing. Imo daily life is much more real when you don’t do it. Convince these kids of this reality however possible.

The drug makes you lazy, uncompetitive in some cases, procrastinate everything, forget simple things, slow, eat everything and it also affects young peoples temperament as it is still developing at that age. It’s really not good for young people. On the other hand most mature folks with pains and who have living experience can do this without much affect to their daily lives, can easily stop when they decide to do so and know when it’s a good time to do it and when it isn’t.

Right before a drug screen is probably not the best time. Right before a critical test, not the best time. Right before a big game, not the best time. While driving around with your buddies in town, not the best time. Your daily activities are complete, all work for the day is done, you want to relax and have some friends over or a girl over, ok sure do your thing. You just can’t forget that it’s still illegal and you have to know that there is a drug screen soon so stop prior to that test or for gods sake pass it using your brain! It isn’t that hard to do! I wish they wouldn’t test either but you have to have rules and the drug is currently illegal.

While I agree its time to legalize it, this is false.

They won't have to back off, they should but won't have too.

In my profession I can promise even if legal I will not be allowed to do it, just as there are rules against alcohol use within companies and organizations.
