Maurepas WMA Airboat Access

Have any of you seen the most recent version of the Maurepas Swamp WMA map? The map now shows airboat access waterways and airboat trails all throughout the WMA and the map legend indicates that use of these requires a permit. I don’t however see anything in the regulations book about airboat use on the WMA. I wonder if this will be allowed during hunting season and what the permit process is.
I have an email in to the LDWF but figured I’d pose the question on here since I know some posters on here hunt the area.

Interesting, guess they finally figured out most of that is only accessible by airboat. Definitely wont scare any ducks during season being they are none.Atleaat some people will be able to see the interior of it.

Probably just the self-clearing permit that you fill out at the boat launch. They even have a permit station at Fred's. I think all boats going into the WMA are supposed to fill them out, BTW.
When we took the boat out to the Sand Bar a month ago, I must've seen 8 to 10 airboats between the old Blind River Bar area and Lake Maurepas.

So from what I can tell, there is a separate airboat permit that was put in place in 2019 and airboat use is not allowed from September 1st to January 31st.
The map now shows a large amount of airboat trails that were not in place in previous years. Not sure if there are any additional changes in the airboat rules for this coming year.

Not a bad idea to have some trails to the interior and somewhat of a grid pattern for rescues if nothing else, pretty much gotta have a helicopter to get people out of that deep swamp now.

I think that comes down to the discretion of the agent that stops you. I've received a written warning for not having a self clearing permit and launching/running my godevil up and down the canal while trying to work out some motor issues. Never stepped foot on the WMA and the canal leads all the way to Lake Maurepas.
If there is a self clearing station at the launch, probably wise to fill it out. And really since the development of the check in/out app, it is super simple.
