This is the problem with over sensitive PCR tests and testing asymptomatic people.
If you were exposed there will be viral multiplication (the virus still gets inside you), the idea is the vaccine stops the disease (I.e. symptoms) and spreading the virus to others because you kill it before you start shedding it in mass.

How dare you bring reasonable scientific explanations of epidemiology onto the MSB! Shame!

What is the cycle threshold for pcr tests currently?
Well into the summer of 2020 tests were still going to 40 even though CDC found that positives above 33 were non-replicating virus fragments and some were still only include result without including the cycle threshold to be able to go back and look afterwards (if only reason one doesn’t want vaccine is because they were positive with one test in past they should make sure they have anti-bodies).
It would be interesting to see what threshold was used with vaccinated players. If threshold was near 33 or higher they should get retested in 24 hours and make results public (assuming retest would be negative or higher cycle threshold outside of another exposure).
I didn’t get holding back asymptomatic prior confirmed positive football players for 14 days for contact with a positive starting the 91st day after their positive test or start of symptoms, and I don’t get testing fully vaccinated asymptomatic baseball players and not letting them play (outside I guess using lower threshold/higher viral load that has been shown to easily spread an actual replicating virus but i have not paid attention lately to pcr changes to know).
Just because a team has its players and coaches all vaccinated doesn’t mean they have not had contact with positives outside of team. How does the NCAA confirm they have not had as much contact or more with someone else outside the team as the contact the NC state vaccinated players had with positive teammates? Are they in some kind of bubble restricting access to players?
