Serious question. So is the defensive team able to put their hand through the hoop, or at least swat it away as the ball is coming down?

I believe so, because it isn't a "legal" shot. So, you can't have goaltending, because if the ball went into the goal without being touched it would just be a turnover.

Interesting...I imagine they could, only because Crowder inbounding the ball cannot obviously shoot and score the bucket, so if he can't score a bucket, I'm not sure how that could be goaltending.

Maybe they could call something else...no clue what? But logically, I don't see how you could give Crowder 2 points for a bucket he couldn't score.
