Ark/Texas Game postponed?

Just spoke with an Arkansas Alumnus and he said both schools are making plans for a possible postponment/cancellation of the Arkansas/Texas game this weekend.
The proposed track of Ike is showing it directly over Austin at game time. According to stormpulse.com it will still be a tropical storm when it gets there.

There is a good possibility that the game will be postponed to the 27th, since both teams have an open date that weekend. The bad thing is that it is the same weekend as ACL Fest, so there will already be a ton of extra people in town and hotel rooms will be hard to come by. Deloss Dodds (UT AD) is supposed to make an annoucement tomorrow I think.

Arkansas would be luckier if this game were just cancelled altogether.

what is going to happen is they will play at some point, Arkansas is going to lose but barely, then I get to hear the rest of the season that they are really a good team despite their close calls to crap teams because they barely lost to Texas

postponed to the 25th, that Thursday. There are NO vacancies that weekend, it would be impossible to have both ACL and a UT home game

Can I catch a break, please? If I'm not worried about my family getting smacked by a hurricane in LA and missing another LSU game I have to worry about tropical force winds and not watching UT get spanked by the SEC this weekend. I can't win!!!

that sucks, guess change of schedule would only help the underdog..... I would love for Arky to pull the upset, even though i usually pull for Tx against non sec foes

Hey Kellesu...we probably won't have power in Austin so we'll likely miss the LSU Game anyway. Must run out and buy plenty of batteries for the radio...this could turn out to suck almost as bad as last Saturday

Is this definite? I know it was discussed, but UT would face the same logistical problems hosting a game on a weeknight that LSU did back in 2005.

Ok...I was going on info given to me by some of my co-workers. It would make more sense to make an announcement ASAP, but I haven't head anything come out of Bellmont as of yet.

no - just got off the phone with ACL people, they had a big meeting this morning, and they discussed the prospect of what to do in the event
but as far as I know, nothing has been finalized
