Trump Achieved What Every President Since Nixon Had Promised: Energy Independence
We were exporting more then importing. While we are on the subject he also created peace in the ME and Biden turned it into a dumpster fire.

That is such a misleading article and strains the definition of “energy independence”.
US oil production at its tippy-top peak was about 13.5mmbopd. US consumption pre-COVID was 20mmbopd. I think production has ramped back up to around 11mmbopd and consumption is up from where it fell. And companies, amazingly, are being disciplined and not overreacting to the recent price bump.

The mental gymnastics you leftists go to in order to stick to your political ideology is astounding. The only thing I’m not sure about is are you:
(A) so indoctrinated and delusional that in your feeble mind you honestly believe the bullshite you spout?
Or
(B) do you know you’re lying and don’t care because your ideology is more important than the truth to you?

What am I lying about? Are my oil prod/consumption numbers wrong? Are companies getting undisciplined and drilling up inventory? Maybe it’s your ideology making you mad about inconvenient facts?

from too many years on here. trust me it is A & B. He tries to disguise his prog filthness by sounding reasonable when he is not.

Who halted a major pipeline project in the US while green lighting one for the Russians?
Who halted oil & gas leases on public land?
You think these things helps or hurts the US from an energy standpoint?

Stopping keystone was dumb but it’s affect on oil prices is negligible as the oil still goes to market. Additionally, Canadian oil is imported oil and does not go towards energy independence.
Regarding the Russian pipeline to Germany that was a political knot that we probably couldn’t really stop as it’s not something we’re directly involved in. I don’t really get all the angst over this line.

That’s not good, but as of now isn’t impacting production. Most of your domestic production growth is on pvt land, state lands and most of the productive fed lands in domestic shale are under lease. We’ll see what happens going forward.
Again, in my previous post, what was I lying about?

What is me being progressive in stating easily verifiable facts about prod/consumption numbers?

America is in no way reliant on Russia for oil . This is fake news.

Everything you said above this proved my point because everything you said before this is pure bullshite. You’re either a willful liar or a feeble minded, politically indoctrinated sheep incapable of independent thought that runs counter to leftist ideology.

What specifically am I getting wrong? Can you show me where my numbers are wrong? Your like one of my kids telling me the other was mean - I can’t do shite without specifics!

I told you. It’s everything. You claim shutting down Keystone isn’t that big of a deal. That’s bullshite. You downplay Biden clearing the way for Russia to make Central Europe reliant on Russian gas, that’s bullshite. Face it, you’re full of bullshite. The only question is do you know you’re full of bullshite but don’t care because your political ideology is more important to you than truth? Or are you truly clueless that you’re full of bullshite.

Is there a difference between energy independence and oil production -v- oil consumption?

yay!
Biden voters xplain to me how this benefits:
a. The climate?
b. Gas prices?

Relative to oil pricing it isn’t significant. And again has nothing to do with energy independence. That’s just a fact man - you’re letting yourself get sucked into the politics of it. It was dumb to block it, but it was kabuki theatre for the green tards as the oil still gets produced and still gets to market.

They were already reliant. More importantly you introduced this topic which has zero to do with American energy independence.

Yes, the way they define it involves total energy production. If you take all the energy we produce such as hydro + wind + coal + natty gas + oil you reach the strained definition of energy independence. But if for example you only need 1bcf gas/day and produce 2, and you need 10 bopd but only produce 6, are you really energy independent?

I understand what you're saying. My question was simple curiosity about where "energy independence" came from.
