The biggest problem with this is that if China ever found out that we gave nukes to Taiwan that would pretty much trigger WW3. China gets pissed if we even discuss selling them basic military equipment. They pretty much threaten war if we even officially acknowledge Taiwan as a country. So yeah if we gave them nukes that would start something if it was ever discovered. And it would be discovered. The Chinese would know we did it 5 minutes after it happened. Considering that nuclear materials can be traced all the way back to what reactors it came from then all they would need to do it get a sample and test it and they would know. Besides you are talking about using these nukes as a deterrent to keep China from attacking Taiwan. So you would not give Taiwan nukes in secret. The only way to keep China honest is to let them and the whole world know that Taiwan has nukes so you would not do that in secret you would advertise the fact that Taiwan has them.
