My point isn't the specific number, just that it's miniscule. Much like race in America, we are under the impression that the numbers are something they are definitely not. Most random dummies would think that black people make up roughly 40% of the country, rather than 13%. Likewise, at this point most people would assume that 25% or more of the public is some form of LGBTwhatever, when in reality the number is very VERY small.

I think it's important to throw these numbers out there occasionally. it might actually make a few middle of the road people sit up and think, "Wait...we're going through all of this for THAT small a number?"
