Since it hasn’t existed long term we don’t know which is the rub. You’ll probably be fine, but you’ll probably be fine if you catch covid, too. Bottom line is if you’re old and/or a fat, which let’s face it most people are, then you should probably take it. If you’re not or you already survived covid, then you probably shouldn’t. And I would not inject my children with it under any circumstance. It doesn’t seem to ever kill children anyway, unlike the flu.

The unanswered question is whether the new variants become sexually transmissible….like HIV? Maybe someone had the infection and survived but the new variant is so sophisticated it can survive in a somewhat dormant state until it’s introduced to a body that’s not been previously exposed….transmitted through various sexual behaviors?
