For reference for the March madness folks today’s games on the opposite side of the bracket from LSU have been pretty chalk:

Arkansas beating NCSU by 20 is like the #1 overall seed beating a 5 seed by 40+ in the sweet 16.

Vandy beating ECU was like a 1 seed beating a 4 seed.

Stanford/Texas Tech and Arizona/Ole Miss is like a 2-3 seed matchup.

On our side of the bracket in tomorrow’s games though, Texas/USF is equivalent to a 1 v. 13 seed matchup in the sweet 16.

Miss St/ND is like a 2-3 matchup.

And In LSU’s quadrant of the bracket we have LSU-Tennessee and DBU-Virginia.

We got a 3 seed in the regional so that means we’d be like a 9-12 seed in the NCAAB tournament. Since LSU was considered a bubble team by many the Tennessee-LSU matchup is like a 1-12 seed meeting up in the sweet 16.

DBU and Virginia were also both 3 seeds in their regionals meaning their relative NCAAB seed would be 9-12. So more or less this is like a 10-11 seed matchup in the sweet 16.

So after watching today’s games moral of the story is our side of the bracket sets up pretty nicely for us. We have a much better opportunity to make a run than if we were on the side of the bracket with Arkansas and Vanderbilt! Wouldn’t see any of the teams playing today until the championship game.
