Connors, McEnroe, and a bunch of other men in tennis were assholes on and off the court. Beloved by millions. Serena throws a fit on occasion, she's called a beast and that's one of the tamer things used.
As far as the "big black chick" thing goes, the name-callers are intimidated by it. Scared little girly soys not up for the challenge.

99.9% of the time, people crying "racism!" are full of shite. We are seeing the other 0.1% here.
