I won't even go in on yellow flag. shite even blue or whatever color it is for best conditions I'll maybe go waist deep and then spend the entire time yelling at my kids to get closer to shore. I have to get a little drunk to relax at the beach. Otherwise all I worry about is riptide or sharks

Beach vacations may not be the best idea for you. I would not like a vacation that stressed me out the majority of the time. I guess to each their own.

You are way more likely to get swept out by a rip current than encountering a shark.

If you are that nervous about the beach, take the long trip to South Padre Island. It is a very docile beach. There are a series of sand bars and I've never seen any rip current there.

I haven’t seen a green flag in years. The water last time I was down was barely a wave and clearer than pool water and still yellow flag.
