Good for him. He deserves it
Eat a powdered donut for the Tiger faithful in the All-Star dugout!

I still can't believe all those years ago Stony Brook came in and whipped the shite out of all 3 of our starting 3 pitchers. That was insane considering the talent we had. SB was legit.
Those dudes laser beamed Gausman, Nola, and Eades.

Gausman gave up like 3 runs and all came when it was raining.
It was Paul's lame swing at every pitch and then run yourselves out of innings when you do get base runners that lost game 2.

Yeah, but they still were belting the ball hard making solid contact. Can't deny those dudes had some talent. Felt like their balls would always hit the gaps too. Eades being a day 3 guy especially when his stuff was on was a luxury. They could've went far that year looking at the roster talent.
I'm just bringing this up because each time I still see Gausman playing today I always remember that series. It's one of those series where I wasn't even that upset we lost despite how big of an upset it was just because SB came in and earned their respect.

I remember one game got delayed for weather and picked back up in the latter innings in an early AM start. Gausman came back in and was throwing 100.

The track record of the last Orioles regime in terms of pitcher development is dreadful. I’d be curious to see Gausman’s career if he would have been drafted by a more progressive team. Either way, he is a monster right now. But yeah, deGrom is still the king.

He has zero shot to start the all star game

Yea. Gausman came in to save Game 1 in the 12th inning(10 am) and started game 2 right after. He was rock solid.
That weekend was not Gausman's fault by any means.

Not sure why I got the downvote. Gausman has had a good 1/2 a season but deGrom is the best pitcher in Major League Baseball and it’s not even close

It’s not super likely, but it is definitely not zero percent.
If deGrom gets injured or pitches the Sunday before the game, he has as good a case as anyone.

Gave up 2-r, 1- ER. 7 IP
“ Gausman’s remarkable May included a 5-0 record, an 0.73 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 37 innings. His eight consecutive starts in which he has worked at least five innings and allowed no more than one run topped Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson’s franchise record of seven in 1901. Gausman joins Juan Marichal (June 1965) and Gaylord Perry (September 1967) as the only pitchers in franchise history with ERAs below 0.80 and at least 49 strikeouts in a calendar month.”

Will finish with $200 mil in earnings before he’s done.

Americans don't watch the All Star game.

Has no shot. Degrom might be the best pitcher ever. But good for Kevin. He definitely turned his career around.

Would be awesome if he won a Cy Young.

I bet you high-fived them at the wall, and maybe even suggested that they could have sex with your girlfriend before they left town. Don't get me wrong, I respect them. But you should always be mad when LSU loses a regional at home
