Any of y’all at Universal or been recently ?

Heading out on Friday for a week there staying at hard rock. Gonna spend a few days at the parks including water park. What are the crowds like ? I see they lifted the mask mandate sorta but are they still making you wear it in some places ? I also see that the velocicoaster is opening on 10th. Any info appreciated. Thanks in advance

Last week they lifted their mask policy altogether if you are fully vaccinated. Crowds have started their summer uptick so arrive early and have a plan.
I never recommend pre-purchasing express pass but consider that as a day of option if you get there and run into alot of morning problems doing what you want to do but make sure you know which rides are included and which rides are not.
Volcano Bay is great.

He said he’s staying at Hard Rock, he gets the express pass automatically.

Have early park access and express passes bc I’m staying at hard rock. Pretty excited about that. Maybe I’ll get to ride hagrids more than once.

Was there for a couple days this week.....crowds were not too bad yet. No masks needed at all. Doesn’t matter if you are vaccinated or not. Didn’t even have one on me. Don’t need it inside or out, for resterautns or anything else at universal including your hotel. Staying at Hard Rock you will have free express pass so don’t worry about the crowds too much.
You can’t use it on Hagrids Motorbike ride or Velocicoaster. You will need to do virtual line on the app for those.
And they are the best two rides in the park!
Velocicaoster was insane!! Best coaster I’ve been on!

They started doing a soft opening on June 1st. Was blessed they did cause it was that good.
Yes. Do the early magic for Hagrids. If you get there early shouldn’t be more than 45 mins. Worth the wait regardless. We stayed at Royal Pacific which does the same as Hard Rock.
My cousin who was there for volcano bay said to make sure to do a cabana upgrade whatever that means

Was there the week before last and crowds were pretty thick. Velocicoaster is the best coaster I have ever been on! Hagrids is great too.

We’re going at the end of the summer and staying at Cabana Bay. Not really our choice, but my son is going to a kicking camp based out of there...all of the meetings and conference room film work stuff is at the hotel.

I liked it better than Hagrids!! Ride it at night as well, totally different experience. Something else that is better at night is the Jurassic Park Water Ride. The drop is pitch black
My experience with Hagrids went like this. We had the early admission and went straight to the attraction. when we got there it was a 75min wait. No to bad, we get all the way through and were to be boarding in about the next 3-4 flights. Ride Breaks down, we wait about 30min (2-1/2 hours total by now) before they start shuffling people out the back exits. Noting is said and they are just telling people the ride broke down. Myself and few other question a worker and they give us express passes. Once ride re-opened we were able to skip all the way until about the last 20 minutes of wait time so total wait the second go round was about 25 minutes. we got to do the other Harry Potter Stuff in the meantime. FYI It would have be worth the 2-1/2 wait as well. Awesome ride

NO express passes but you get a little watch/bracelet device that you can scan and save spots in lines.. works pretty good, but you can only have 1 ride scanned at a time

I did like it better than Hagrids. Kind of not fair because they are different styles, but Velocicoaster is amazing.
