My dad was La National Guard in Baton Rouge at the time. He was activated and had to rush down to secure the perimeter for standoff with Mark Essex(the HoJo Sniper).

Not really CSB but a morbid sidenote: My dad went on to be a Master Sergeant in La National Guard in Baton Rouge by the late 70s. He trained John Muhammad during his time in Baton Rouge as a combat engineer.
My dad said "Williams"(as he called him) was incredibly smart and physically fit(he smoked everyone in PT and could run 3 miles in under 15 minutes).
