If this was the cop who made that video about LeBron James from his squad car while in uniform I can understand why he was fired. I'm in the military and, while we are allowed to say whatever the hell we want outside of uniform, our speech is severely restricted while in uniform. I imagine the same holds true for cops. Had I made a similar video while in uniform, I would have been disciplined for it. Had he made the video while dressed in civilian clothes I don't think he would have been fired.

I have a good buddy in the Navy who says the same. I respect highly the point you and he make and in general completely agree that’s how it should be.

I will offer insofar as I can tell, the enforcement aspect is perceived to being applied to only one of the two major political viewpoints.

Now whether that’s because all pro-woke personnel are being good and compliant -or- they just don’t get disciplined for their views I can’t say.

I do know I don’t seem to hear about those cases, if they happen.

James is in a protected class. A white police officer criticizes a black basketball player is a big no no.

It shouldnt be done in uniform.

I bitch about athletes kneeling for the national anthem pregame. Why? Because they are working, and i am at the game paying their salary. Do it outside of work. Im 100% free speech. But i dont pay to watch people disrespect fallen soldiers, the flag, or our nation.

Off the clock only.

I do see the double standard. In georgia, several liberal retired sheriffs are in uniform and endorsing political candidates. I know that they are retired and "off the clock". But that is still a disrespect to a uniform that should be 100% above politics. Classless people, imo.
