Hey I recently was able to get the psa akv & was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good red dot to go with it?

For a range toy Holosun, just pick which flavor you want. For self defense Trijicon or Aimpoint unless money is tight, then Holosun.

Are you going to use the side mount or replace the gas tube with an Ultimak? If you go with the Ultimak I’d do plenty of research to get a dot that can handle the heat.

Probably just mount to the Picatinny rail’s on the top

Try some different red dots. Astigmatisms (I have one also) are weird and don’t present with all optics. The MRO is supposed to be one that’s clear for a lot of people, and I have an Eotech that it doesn’t affect. I’ve got an older Primary Arms red dot that looks like a grape cluster to me. Functional for home defense if I needed to use it for that, but it’s very noticeable.

I looked through a bunch of different ones and some were better than others (Eotechs being less blurry), but I eventually just settled on a Vortex Spitfire prism sight and different LPVO’s for everything else. I never looked at the MRO, but will next time.

Sig Romeo5 on sale for $109.99
excellent for that price. I ended up going with the MSR to save a few bucks

the MSR does not have all the features of the Romeo5 red dot like the extra low mount, motion activation, longer battery life, and the use of a more common battery. ... MSR has two more bringhtness settings than the Romeo5 and because of the brightness adjustment knob you know what setting you are on at all times.
