I heard one virologist who is skeptical of the lab theory say "viruses make terrible weapons. We have studied them for 70 years and decided long ago that they just aren't good for it. It's much easier just to drop a bomb."

I agree with him that conventional weapons are easier and can do more damage. But he's missing the entire point. The Chinese don't think on that level. They are taking a play out of Sun Tzu's book. The Chinese know that, sure, the virus might not be super deadly, but it's just enough to cause major disruption to the West. And, most importantly, they have plausible deniability. If the Chinese were to send ships and planes over here, well, that would be a huge mistake and would end in their demise. So they took a more sneaky plan of action. They released it just before the election and totally fricked Trump over. And they fricked our economy. Huge win for the Chicoms on both fronts. The CCP also knew the media here would be on their side just because they wanted to take down Trump.

The Chinese considered that we might figure out it came from a lab eventually, but they know they still have plausible deniability. If push comes to shove they can always claim it was accidental and they know there is ZERO way to prove otherwise. (That is unless CIA has some well placed operatives in the CCP, but I doubt it). I am sure the CCP has already "disappeared" anyone in the lab who helped leak it. Dead men tell no tales, as they say.
