Played Rock Creek on Friday. Staff was great and course layout was also very interesting. Land movement is natural and flows well. The greens were very slow and I just couldn’t get the ball to the hole. If they could improve the speed it would really be great.
Played Azalea at Lakewood yesterday and it was pristine. Fairway lies were perfect. Greens were true and a good speed. Layout was beautiful. Really a great golf course. Highly recommend it.

We spent Wed-Sun at the Grand last weekend. The storm got us on Saturday, but I was able to play Thursday and Friday with my dad. We played Azalea both days. Were scheduled for Dogwood on Saturday even though it was recently aerated.
It's been said a few times in this thread, but I was thoroughly impressed with Azalea. I've played a ton of flat South LA and Destin area golf, so the elevation changes in the rolling fairways on the course surprised me.
Loved the layout. I play a low draw which is why I'm not very good. But a couple of the tee shots required me to hit a cut which was fun. There was a driveable Par 4 which is pretty rare and fun. I hit it on the green one day and then in the water the next.
They didn't need water on the Par 3s to make them good holes. Though the one with the water did produce the highlight of our trip, an ace from Dad.
The greens were quick and true. Fairways were lush and gave you every opportunity to hit quality iron shots.
My one complaint was no yardage books available. I took a couple of poor lines off tees because I wasn't sure where to play to.
But overall it was a fantastic golf course. Dogwood will be hosting the US Women's Senior Am in September. I can't wait to get back to play that one.
