The sky screaming is mind-numbing. It's the same posters over and over that gravitate to MTV for poli-controversal specific topics, yet never post on MTV otherwise - not the regs mind you. Everyone gets it and I'm not calling it out anymore

100% this.

I go to Pelicans Talk, here, Saints Talk and Gaming Board because it’s the only places left that don’t seem to be overrun with political threads and posts. But it’s starting to happen at those other places too.

Ok...honest question here so take it for what it's worth.

Do you think the fact that virtually all walks of life have become inundated by politics is more to blame for the fact that there is so much cross over on the boards, or do you think there is very little cross over in areas outside of politics (entertainment, sports, etc) and people are just making it up to bring here?

From my perspective, one of the most common refrains at this point is lamenting that we have so few places left where politics have not become ever present. I've been a sports fans all my life and it was a respite from politics mostly...but I'm not the one that turned sports into political theater. The fact that I am bothered by the intrusion of politics into sports and I talk about that IS NOT me bringing politics into sports. It's me responding to it. Same goes for the Entertainment industry. News broke this week that NBC was refusing to televise the Golden Globes...because of politics. Are we not supposed to talk about that on this board? Do we avoid talking about politics on the Sports Board even though the athletes are the ones turning sports on their heads because of their own personal politics?

Trust me...I wish there would be a non-overlapping magesteria between politics and most other things. I just think your anger is misplaced towards the wrong people. Viewers and fans did not bring politics into these arenas...entertainers did. Asking viewers to then sit quietly while what they loved is taken over is placing the blame on the wrong group. I'd love to be able to go back to talking strictly about the topics we all love...but I'm not going to allow topics to go undiscussed simply because entertainers have decided to become activists.
