A few years back I was reading an article about trade and the strange bedfellows it makes.
An example was California, liberal, freewheeling California. They were spending a boatload lobbying for the, thats FOR THE Iran embargo measures of Trump. Why on earth.
Did you know Cali is one of the largest producers of Pistachios for the US market, know who WAS the largest worldwide producer....Iran.
