Will Wade said on the Colotta Show he is mostly done with the roster for the upcoming season.
It’s likely we will lose a good bit of the team to the draft next year or transfer portal for various reasons.
What are we looking like in the high school recruiting world for the 2022 cycle? Still would be nice to get a 5 star or 2 from highschool.
It’s likely Wade will do what he this year a fill major holes with Transfers. The transfer portal really has changed the landscape of recruiting.
Public Enemy #1. We need to extend his contract.
Frick Dickhead V.

Well the 'play immediately' transfer rule is only due to Rona right?
So transferring wont be as appetizing as it was this year.
But Wade has shown a crazy ability to stack a roster with talent if anything.

No. NCAA passed a 1 time play immediately rule.

This is a must. we'd be a fool to assume other AD's aren't looking at what WW is doing and how he is handling the Transfer portal. that will become a major part of coaching and already is. Sign him to an extension right now.
Also NCAA may have approved the 1 time immediate eligibility transfer rule, but i think if it is in conference the SEC will still need to rule on it. May change and may not matter that much since it is likely we get our transfers from out of conference like we have recently.

Every coach is doing this right now. There are 1500 kids in the portal lol

So....then...yes...?? Its a one time time thing.... which aligns with the point I was making...

Are they doing it at the Clip that Will Wade is? I’d say there a few that are as successful at getting guys from the portal as Will. Go listen to the Cullota interview with Wade and the commentary from some of the recruits he met with.
They had a transfer portal prospect’s Dad that didn’t sign anywhere yet but said Wade was the Elon Musk of college basketball. Said he knows what he was a doing. Shows that soln on how to improve and why you should go play for LSU. Says he coulda been successful at whatever he wanted.

Not one time as in just this year. One time meaning you can only transfer once.

No. The coronona transfer rule was an exception.
They have now passed a rule that you can transfer once without having to sit. A second transfer would be subject to waiting periods like we were used to in the past, but going forward kids have a one-time opportunity to transfer and play immediately, and not just during this one coronavirus-impacted season.

So every year, kids can transfer at will without penalty?? Wow. Thatll ruin a lot stuff.
I thought it was a one time, this year only deal...

There are many teams that getting big transfers. Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn have done so in the SEC alone. Texas has done a tremendous job in the transfer market. As has Maryland.
Wade is not doing anything all that unique. He just had more spots to fill than most with 95% of his production from this past season choosing to leave school early.
As far as next season's recruiting I think it is safe to say massive transferring is here to stay so it is very unlikely will know much about the 22-23 roster until next May. Currently, LSU has one HS commitment for the 2022 class, Devin Ree. A SF from Mississippi who is a top 100 recruit and #1 player in the state of Mississippi.

Wade is a damn good coach. You’ll have some who will make every effort to minimize that, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s done an outstanding job reloading and filling needs with highly skilled players

Each player can transfer 1 time without having to sit out.
Say I go to LSU in 2024 and decide to transfer and I go to Southern Texas A&T -- If I decide to transfer again, I would have to sit out a year.
It's not just this current calendar year, it is anytime but just once per person.

Wade is doing at that clip cause he lost his whole starting lineup
On jordys show last week he said he will need to keep the high school kids coming in to keep things balanced. This volume of transfers is going to be a 1 year thing. And the program will be better because of that

Wade said he only spoke to like 11-15 transfer players. And he landed some of the top talent. That’s an impressive stat.

I agree on the Frick part, but the GANSTA knows exactly what he is doing as far as recruiting goes, if u lose a player to the draft then he was the right player to recruit, as long as they have to go to college for a year then that’s the way it’ll be.

Basketball recruiting is so sketch and low key that we won’t know who he wants for awhile. Fudge, Colbert, and Reid are all top guys that basically committed to LSU out of nowhere
Posted on 5/12/21 at 10:27 pm to tigerbait2010
Its not "out of nowhere". Colbert committed like 2 years ago. Will is a really good talent evaluator. He had a really good big kid at Chattanooga for 2 years and another at VCU, who has been in the NFL for a few years (VCU does not play football). So when Will was an assistant at VCU (I live in Richmond and go to most of the games), there was a male assistant with the womens program. I broadcast their games..Mens & womens hoops shared an office suite. So Will became friends with Curt, the womens assistant. Lo and behold guess who Reid's HS coach was here for 3 years before he left for IMG - same guy - Curt. Will has been following Reid's career for like 6 years - when he was HC at VCU & the last 4 at LSU. Reid is the best player to come out of Richmond in 30+ years. Having been the HC at VCU and being friends with Curt it was only natural that Will recruited Efton. So while the media had not picked up on it i knew that Will had been recruiting Reid for years.
