I'm not sure we disagree at heart, buttmonkeys notwithstanding.

My fear with regard to what you're getting at, however, is I think there is a fine line between reaching a boiling point that actually wakes good people from their slumber and a point of no return.

I’m afraid that reaching a boiling point is what it will take — the problem is we are the frogs being boiled. In any event, I think things are going to get much worse before they get better.

My main point above is the two political parties differ only in style, not substance. Both parties believe — to varying degrees — in perpetual Empire, unlimited bailouts and an ever-expanding welfare state that is funded by our print-on-demand monetary system.

Trump was certainly less belligerent than any President since Ronald Reagan but he really had no means of making systematic changes to the existing power structure. I liked Trump because he had enemies in all the right places yet Trump’s idea of draining the Swamp was simply filling it with Swamp critters of his own choosing.

This was perhaps his greatest failing as President.
