Being Catholic right now would be downright embarrassing with this progressive charlatan as pope. What a complete whiff by the elective body of bishops/cardinals

Amazing to me that Catholic bishops can reconcile abortion and Christianity.
There isn’t enough room to list all of their false doctrines, so it should surprise no one.

I'm not going to take the side of the Vatican on this one, because I do disagree, however, it is more nuanced than people want it to be.
There is a difference between supporting choices, including the choice to sin - which is what free will requires, and actually sinning. If Biden et al were proven to have committed/decided on an actual abortion within their own control, they would be denied - as they should be.
The question for the Vatican is, do we put politicians on a higher pedestal that their opinion is more relevant than someone else's, does it have more weight and are they more responsible for allowing this choice?
Anyone raising issue here, Catholic or not, needs to look at this on a scale related to contraception. Most people would believe that contraception is not "as bad," that someone who supports allowing contraception isn't necessarily sinning, even if they don't use contraception.
Look, the current Vatican is problematic, but it is human. It's still The Church, and there is a thread where this kind of decision can be relatively defended, even if morally any good Catholic would believe this is the wrong choice.
As a recent Catholic convert, I have to agree with everything you said here.

These politicians not only allowed abortions, they openly campaign to allow them. That’s more than a passing interest, they have a direct hand in this.
As Jesus said if you dwell on the sin, you have committed the sin. To get to this point, they have obviously dwelled on this.

This pope and the current church hierarchy are in league with Satan. I have been a Catholic all my life. I didn’t leave the church......it left me.

Wouldn’t be the first time.

This is kind of like splitting hairs. What is the difference in supporting someone's right to sin and condoning sin?

The obvious answer to this question is "yes".

When they go from “abortion = murder” to “it’s not that big of a deal” in a matter of years how are we supposed to believe anything else they say.
I stopped listening when they repeatedly covered up rape of boys… even moving known rapist priests to new parishes where they could do their thing all over again.
I expect downvotes in droves, but let’s be honest, posters here will launch crusades and tirades against a company for putting out a woke commercial or a woke statement, but they won’t reconcile that their Church has pretty nasty and enduring penchant for human rights violations.
I left the Catholic Church over a decade ago and I still see no reason to return its foul ways.

Bingo. I believe fully in Catholicism but not so much the church wit this Marxist pope destroying everything and the priest scandals all over the country.

I know the priest who denied Biden communion when he was campaigning in South Carolina in 2019. He said that after he did it, his church received a lot of money in donations from around the country, but their staff was also harassed daily by phone, e-mail, and in-person for several weeks after.
If the priests want to defy the Vatican and deny a pro-choice politician the Eucharist due to their own belief in church doctrine, they should be able to do so. The Bishops aren’t the ones saying a majority of Masses around the world anyway.
