They are. And the fried belly meat the OP described is the best it gets as far as I’m concerned. Just a play off the thread where people called the majestic white perch al sorts of other funny names. Including bream smdh

Agree with the descriptive names being synonymous and the fact the belly meat is insanely good.
My favorite catfish to catch by far and the one with the best belly meat.
I target them with using live perch on a large circle hook when fishing the Mississippi River. Last time I went out I caught 4 large cat that topped 80 lbs. total weight and had 2 flatheads and 2 blues. I put lots of filets in the freezer that night and keep the belly meat separate from the filet meat off the sides.
