This is a pretty deep rabbit hole.
When operational, even with its obsolete design features, the Tiger was fairly impressive in tank-on-tank actions. It was outnumbered, easily, 10 to 1 on the Eastern Front, particularly by 1943 and 1944.
American Sherman tanks were numerous as well, but the American procedure for eliminating German tank formations was to use aircraft. Sherman tanks were intended to support the infantry, not defeat enemy tanks. Those not handled by aircraft were the primary responsibility of a separate command of tank destroyer units.
So, the Tiger and its medium tank brother, the Panther were great tanks, but irrelevant ones in the light of American and Russian production numbers.

How exactly did that article debunk anything about the Tiger being a superior tank to be in during combat? Germany didn't make that many, it drank a lot of gas, it didn't have sloped armor (even though it's armor was still superior to most all other tanks it faced.) These are the main critiques.
The article opened by mocking Hollywood's depiction of the mention of a Tiger present striking fear in Allied soldiers and then proceeded to make strategic critiques, not tactical combat critiques. The fact is, the Tiger was a fantastic tank to be in when the shooting started and it rightfully did strike fear in its enemies when they matched on the battlefield. If that article convinced you otherwise I'd say your critical reading and thinking need some work.

War bonds don’t sell themselves mang!
Got to have a lot of fear sprinkled with a dash of pride to make the people get behind a cause.
