what did you expect was going to happen when Congress was breached by a mob?

Breached? They opened the doors and let them in. Hardly an intimidating mob either they were all unarmed and the only thing that happened that day was one of them was shot by a racist blm capital policeman.

The far right conspiracy theorists have tainted any real discussion about this so it can easily be dismissed as another conspiracy theory

Lin Wood was the worst culprit in this whole mess.

I think they knew that actual proof would take time to get and would be detailed, complicated, and require some effort to understand. In the meantime, they felt they had to keep the issue on the front page, at least in the minds of their supporters. Hence the many reckless and easily discounted allegations.

The riot of January 6 cost them the high moral ground. Time has taken more of a toll.

All that said, half the country still believes the 2020 election was not on the up and up. No Republic will last long if this feeling continues, not even this one.

Trying to hinder or discount the ongoing audits and court challenges does not change anyone's mind, it confirms their suspicions. It would be best for the county, and the liberals, to cooperate and let it play out. Either the shenanigans made a difference, or they didn't. Either it legitimizes the election, or it doesn't.

There was plenty of questionable things. But the hyperbolic and unbacked accusations did nothing but hurt the efforts to bring the valid ones to light.

and the cherry on top was the meme-ready insanity of Jan 6

Bingo. And I believe there was fraud, but now there is absolutely no chance of it being overturned.

this is like asking Trump fans to accept the Russia investigation from the 2016 election

Trump fans are even doing the whole "45" routine with "*President biden". it's the same shite all over again with a different coat of paint

In my estimation, the only reason for this is the creation of a massive, and I mean massive ballot harvesting operation

Had y'all not noticed the insane efforts to obstruct the Trump campaign's ability to bring the entire thing into the light? That's sorta why these folks were angry and at the Capital to begin with. This all sounds like a bit of a copout to me. JMO

Only if you're consuming the democrat media and think of them as arbitrators of what is moral and what is not.

That guy's at the Capital right now stopping things from happening? Well, I agree, that is a problem.

That's a cute picture but there's video of them opening the doors and letting the people in.

It was no different than the embarrassing anti Kavanaugh girls overtaking the Capitol.

It cemented the legacy of Trumpites. Regardless of what people think the media will never let this one go.

Again you're giving all the power to the media. The media decides what somebodies legacy is. The media decides that you can't talk about this anymore. And you're willing to just go right along with whatever the media declares, why is that?

context is important

how did those people get to the doors?

hell, watch the fricking video. you call that mob peaceful? your argument is that a mob of people, who just forced their way past barriers illegally, were not breaching the Capitol because the outnumbered and threatened police opened the doors?

that's like a robber arguing that at the point where the victim gave the robber his wallet, it wasn't a robbery because even though the robber just threatened the victim with a gun and demanded the wallet, the victim voluntarily gave the robber the wallet

What path? How about letting the lawsuits proceed on to full trials on the merits. Even had any and all Trump election challenge lawsuits failed on the merits, at least full and fair opportunity to participate in discovery would've (and again, subsequent trials on merits) disabled the current state of the unknown that continues to pervade. That it's still up in the air for nearly half the country is exactly not Trump et al's fault. They were ready to tee it up.

The View and Alyssa Milano has already debunked the allegations of widespread fraud. This was the most secure election and President* Biden is the most popular present ever! Just ask the 5 people that showed up to see him in Lake Charles
