I do think now more than ever it’s more important to send their kids off to summer camp so long as they aren’t going to enforce values against what you want. It was liberating as a kid to get away from society, and it was nowhere near as indoctrinated as they are today. It’s difficult to get into these two camps and the kid has to be interviewed these days I believe, but I’d recommend parents send their kids to Alpine (boys) and Desoto (girls) up in Northeast Alabama. Instills God’s values while also instilling social networks into their kids. Met people that became lifelong friends and were also good for networking. I’ll put it this way, if the kid is a shithead and a bully, then they’re banned forever from the camp no matter how much the parent is worth. I highly recommend the camps. They are awesome and the closest your kids can get to feel going to Hogwarts without being in danger like those kids.

Indeed. I got recommended by my friend’s parents whose kids also went there and he was one of my best friends (even to this day), but it’s not impossible to get in. Here’s the thing: if they think your kid is a little shite, then they’re not getting into Alpine or Desoto. You get preferable treatment if you have a brother or sister at the other sibling camp (Alpine for boys and Desoto for girls), you get a reference from a current camper, or you went to either of these camps and want your kids to go to. You have a particularly shithead bully of a kid in the manner Draco Malfoy, then they won’t hesitate to kick your family out of the camp as a whole. They’re cool with ballbusting, and it isn’t helicopter parenting, but if your kid truly sucks then they won’t hesitate to kick the kid out since they have no shortage of good kids on the waiting list.
