Alys Beach would be the last place I’d stay on 30a. There’s construction all over 30a, but for it’s size, Alys probably has the most. It’s beautiful and fancy, but it doesn’t have the charm and atmosphere of the others because it’s not built out and has so much construction. You can stay anywhere else on 30a and still enjoy visiting Alys....eating at George’s, Neat, etc.

If your wife likes that end of 30a, stay at Rosemary.

Interesting observation. This seems to be plannned intentionally as they are trying to maintain/ increase values. But I agree, not sure why you'd want to own there when the planned completion is not for a long time and you can buy somewhere else with much less construction.

I suppose its mostly to be able to say "i own a house at Alys Beach"
