yup. folks here will pretend there is no danger with this type of force despite it being well known to be dangerous. especially when they suspected he was intoxicated which compounds the potential danger. The natural instinct for struggling to breath is being used to justify comply or die.
at least these cops quickly realized what was happening and attempted life saving measures. hopefully more will learn from this story and departments focus on training moderation of force.

Since apparently many people resist arrest, maybe the police should use chloroform.
