Small conductors are prone to hitting high currents irregularly. The hot cold cycling causes the aluminum to "flow" and work loose from the connections. Poor connections get hot and cause fires.

You don't want #10awg or smaller in a home for these reasons.

My question was rhetorical. If the connections are proper, there is no reason to waste money and materials changing out aluminum wiring.

Yea,I have Aluminum wiring. Changed to LED fixture Pulls less amps does not heat up as much so don't exspand and contract as much.Also put penatrox on all connection.The house is 60 years old if never had a problem. Just did this to make sure no problem.
