Not being a smart arse, but I am legit interested in seeing a detailed argument why any list that includes the “Steroid Era” and doesn’t have Bonds #1.

My opening argument is:
“Google Barry Bonds stats”

All around hitters? Do you mean hitters who hit for power and average?

Tony Gwynn struck out 434 times in 9288 AB and 10,232 PA.

Also, Jeter had 8 seasons of 200+ hits, finished with a .310 average in 11,195 AB, and is 6th all time with 3465 hits.

I think there is a very strong argument for Bonds being the greatest hitter of all-time (his Fangraphs page from 2001-2004 might be the must absurd baseball stats I’ve ever seen), but you could make that same argument for Babe Ruth and Ted Williams too. Google their stats and it’s similarly gaudy.
