This story is fake news.

I wonder if the mask they provide to surgeons are the same that people buy 100 for a buck at dollar tree

I guess I should stop running with my mask on.

This one is. Read the crap. It is garbage.

If masks are so detrimental to our health how do surgeons operate 5 days a week for multiple hours for 30+ years without issues? Use your fricking brain and stop getting your medical advice from a barstool sports wannabe
Is this what you claim using you’re fricking brain looks like?
Hahahaha.....great comparison...I can tell you’re brain is just fricking firing on all cylinders!!

He is spot on. In fact this stupid "study" cites surgeons and their wearing of masks. He notes, as if it is significant that during major surgeries, after 60 minutes of wearing a mask that the surgeons' oxygen saturation drops 1 percent and heart rate increases by 5 beats per minute. If you know anything, you know that is incredibly insignificant and not worth noting.

He’s a cardio guy at the VA hospital affiliated with Stanford.
He hollers at old, fat guys to move their legs on the treadmill.

Are you suggesting everyday people wear a mask appropriately without touching it and also change their mask every 20 minutes? I’d think not. Maybe you should open up your brain too bro.

I guess you think CO2 is a pollutant as well.
Nope. But it's not what the human body needs to run efficiently.

From the referenced study:
“Conclusions
Considering our findings, pulse rates of the surgeon's increase and SpO2 decrease after the first hour. This early change in SpO2 may be either due to the facial mask or the operational stress. Since a very small decrease in saturation at this level, reflects a large decrease in PaO2, our findings may have a clinical value for the health workers and the surgeons.”

He’s a PhD and is with Cardiology Dept at the Pali Alto VA which is part of Stanford. Being in the cardiology dept does not mean you help people do cardio. Lol.

quote:Was 5 bpm and a 1% drop. Dropping spO2 1% isn't going to be a problem for your PaO2. Still insignificant. That can happen getting out of your chair to get a beer during halftime of a game.

And yet this little gem...
quote:suggests they don't even know if that insignificant change was due to the mask or a MAJOR surgical procedure.
may be either due to the facial mask or the operational stress

That is a well thought out response. Time for your nap because you've clearly taxed your synapses enough for one day.
