A pretty reliable source just told me that since West Monroe's game with Thibodaux was cancelled, Shows was able to set up a game with Leesville in Rebel stadium for Saturday night.

Not all details are final but it looks like it could happen!

Saturday night at 6:30pm per WM message board. The poster is reliable. This is great news because I wanted to watch Ford at some point. Also, it's great for everyone on this site because WM's games are filmed and put online in their entirety. Now you'll be able to see Ford, Mingo, and Banks play full games and not just their highlights.

Well hell ... this was a home game. Really don't feel like traveling all the way up to West Monroe. Guess I'll have to.

Yes ... I do. I cover the team.

by the way, it's not finalized yet. Should be by noon tomorrow. The details are being ironed out.

If this does go down, it will give me a chance to see a game at their stadium. I hear it's one of the best in the state.

It really is one of the best, I hope the Rebel faithful realize that this could be a huge game for us as Leesville is better than most of the teams in our district.

It's pretty nice. Word will spread quickly around here about Ford and Stallworth and that will make it a little better atmosphere. I am scared to death of how fast and powerful Ford will be on the turf.

You should have a good time. Get there early and tailgate. We'll be happy to have you.

wmrebel ... it's a big game for Leesville too. If they want to take the next step and start playing against the elite teams in the state, no place better to start than West Monroe.

CNC .. will do. I'm looking forward to it. I know it will be tough going against a solid defense like the Rebels have.

Ya'll need to get a good look at one of the most underrated players in the state - RB for WM - Ladarius Abrams. It should be the perfect time for good comparison shopping.

I agree, Ladarious is very underrated he already has offers from Arkansas, La Tech, ULM, and Tulane and with a big SR. season could get more.

BTW: Micheal Ford vs the Rebel D will be a damn good matchup, but Ford isnt the first highly rated RB WM D-coordinator Jerry Arledge has seen. He has shut down the likes of Kevin Faulk, Cedric Benson, Alley Brousard, Montrell Connor, Vondrell Magee, etc.

In other words, we shouldn't worry if Ford rushes for 10 yards total.

Don't sleep on Stallworth now. He can do some damage as well. And a young sophomore you guys haven't heard of. Slot receiver Levander Liggins who will take over at QB next season. He can motor.

Other Leesville kids to look out for:

DE Rob Sauvao (6-3, 230) ... had 4 sacks in scrimmage and jamboree action.

WR Demetrius Mark

Safety Cassetti Brown (La. Tech commit)

WR Jeron Hamm (6-4, 190) could be a great one.

Hope Leesville has a good showing up there.

Ouch, not what I wanted to hear. In the past Mobile QB's have given WM trouble. Does Leesville run the spread?

Yes, they run the spread similar to what West Virginia did with White and Slaton. Four wides with Stallworth in the shotgun and Ford in one back set.

West Monroe's defense has alot of growing up to do. Neville moved the ball pretty consistently in the jamb with running backs much smaller. Leesville will provide more of a threat than alot of district teams with all of that athleticism.

As far as Arledge shutting down other highly touted backs, he did so with more talent and more veterans than he has now. Should be good, but i believe Leesville will score some points. The big question will be whether or not Leesville will be able to slow down WM. West Monroe has more speed this year than the last couple of years. The offense will work even better if Abrams gets some snaps at fullback.

Either way, it should be interesting.

Wow, this matchup seems to be working more and more in Leesville's favor. Arlege has never been able to stop a good spread offense (prime example: Evangel with Booty and Hester)

How your defense? Our offense is very powerful with a great o-line and DJ Banks/Ladarious Abrams in the backfield.

Defense has a lot of speed, but not extremely big. Defensive line is veteran and safeties are pretty good. Linebackers are extremely inexperienced.
