You may not deserve to die for driving drunk but if you do and wrap your car around your tree ykur actions caused your death. Same thing here, did the cop screw up? Sure, but criminals actions are the reason he is dead.

As I predicted, the DA plans on pursuing criminal charges. Hopefully, they don't overcharge, hit her with manslaughter, and thus ensure a conviction.
